My mother gave me her original Jose Reyes Nantucket lightship basket and I love to fill it with flowers. The first true Lightship Baskets were made in the mid- to late 1800s aboard the Lightship stationed on the Nantucket Shoals. Hydrangeas and lightship baskets are both symbolic of the beauty Nantucket still offers.
