I painted this piece at a time when I felt that I needed to step outside of my comfort zone.  I came up with the idea after talking with a few of my friends who were experiencing difficult times.  I couldn’t make their troubles disappear, but I reminded them that sometimes we just have to hang onto our hats until the wind dies down.  And while you’re hanging on, take time to breathe in nature and remember that everything passes.
