Birds are special creatures and they deserve to be revered.  They are resourceful, resilient, and orderly.  It’s a no wonder that birdwatching is a favorite pastime among many people; there is so much to be learned from birds.  I decided to paint two birds watching each other, much like we study them.  I placed them on dock pilings to give them height and to reflect there regal nature.  I came up with the title while I was finishing the colorful heron.  The birds are looking at each other in the diptych, as if assessing one another and I thought about one of my favorite movies, “When Harry Met Sally.”
