I’ve been spending a lot of time indoors, helping my daughter with her new baby and her 2-year-old. I can’t help but reminisce about the days when my life was filled with small children and domestic chores. In this painting, Home, Sweet, Home, I tried to capture the often-overlooked kind of beauty: the intimate, interior world where love, repetition, presence, and small joys take root. This is not a portrait of perfection, but more of a celebration of the interior world. I remember the way time stretched on, how hours felt endless, yet passed in a blink. It was a season of life where I learned that love shows up every day in the small, the ordinary, and the repeated. The apples were a late addition, almost an afterthought, but one that felt essential. They are a metaphor for inheritance as I watch my daughter raise her children much like I did. It is true that apples don’t fall far from the tree!
